NDIS Cleaning Services
While we know the value of a clean home in improving our well-being, creating that clean environment can be a challenge for people living with disabilities. Maple Support Services can enable you to achieve a clean home and optimise your health.
Whether you or your loved one experiences a disability, Maple Community Services can work with you with funding from the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to ensure you live your life to the fullest.
How can Personal Care Services Help Someone With a Disability?
People living with disabilities have varying levels of physical, mental, and emotional functions depending on the nature of their disability and these can have a drastic impact on the tasks they’re able to carry out on a regular basis. Nonetheless, there are some tasks that are absolutely essential to preserving our health and ensuring we can live full lives. Among these, personal care functions are a bare necessity that lays the groundwork for how we can perform in all other aspects of our lives.
If you or a loved one is living with a disability, chances are there are certain everyday activities that can be infeasible. Eating well, performing personal hygiene, getting dressed, and using the restroom all contribute to an individual’s senses of self and dignity.
Do I Qualify For Cleaning Services Under the NDIS?
There are many factors that the NDIS considers before deciding on your available funding. The support service needs to be reasonable and necessary to help you achieve your goals, purpose, and aspirations.
Cleaning and home maintenance are covered under the Core Supports category and considered as Assistance with Daily Activities. The specifics of your NDIS Plan will determine how you can use the available funds. If you’re not sure if your needs fall under this category, we can help you clarify with the NDIA exactly what is and isn’t covered under your personalised plan under our Support Coordination and Plan Management Services.
What Cleaning Services are Available Under NDIS?
You may be confused as to what exactly can be covered by your NDIS Core Supports. The Assistance with Daily Living category covers services that are ultimately reasonable and necessary, and directly related to your disability. This could include any of the following:
- Domestic cleaning
- In-home laundry
- House maintenance
If you are able to complete these activities while living with your disability, or if any of these services requires you to hire a professional that a person without a disability would also need to hire, then it is not covered by the NDIS. Again, we can provide referrals to different providers depending on what your needs are to achieve your goals.
